Lotan

Hebrew: לוֹטָן —transliteration: Lotan —meaning: a covering

Lotan is one of the sons of Seir, the Horite (Genesis 36:20, 29).

His sister is Timna (Genesis 36:22; 1 Chronicles 1:39) who was married to Esau’s son Eliphaz. Timna gave birth to Amalek, the father of the Amalekites, an enemy of the children of Israel.

Lotan’s sons are Hori and Homam.
