Tiberius Caesar depicted on a Roman denarius coin (18 AD—35 AD.) with the words “Caesar Augustus Tiberius, son of the Divine Augustus”. The reverse depicts his mother Livia Drusilla. When Jesus was asked whether or not it was lawful to pay tribute to Caesar, he requested that he be shown a coin. He then asked whose image appeared on it. On being told that it was Ceasar’s, he replied “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God's”.. Photographer: DrusMAX. Who is…
Tiberius Caesar

also known as: Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus and simply Tiberius

In the Bible, he only mentioned in Luke 3:1,

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, —Luke 3:1 KJV

In the fifteenth year of this caesar’s reign John the Baptist began his public ministry, and under him also our Lord Jesus taught and suffered.

Born in Rome, Italy, Tiberius Caesar was the stepson of Caesar Augustus (the first Roman emperor), whom he succeeded on the throne, 14 A.D.

He was one of the most successful Roman generals and was noted for his vicious and infamous life. He died at age 77 in 37 A.D., reigning from September 17, 14 to March 16, 37. He is buried in the Mausoleum of Augustus in Rome.

He is frequently referred to simply as “Caesar” (Matthew 22:17, 21; Mark 12:14, 16, 17; Luke 20:22, 24, 25; 23:2; John 19:12, 15).
