I'm not surprised. Moses could hardly believe this was happening! The most powerful being in the universe was right in front of him, talking to him! What did He want?!? I am sure Moses was suddenly very aware of his own sinfulness and felt dirty and ashamed of himself in God’s sight. Was God going to kill him for his sinfulness? Was something terrible about to happen? No, God simply had an important message for Moses. But that is another story.
