Meaning: Jehovah is her glory

She is the wife of Amram, and the mother of Miriam, Aaron, and Moses (Numbers 26:59).

It is she who smeared tar on the ark of bullrushes as a waterproofing to save baby Moses.

But when she could hide him no longer, she got him a wicker basket and covered it over with tar and pitch. Then she put the child into it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile. —Exodus 2:3 NASB

She is spoken of as a sister of Kohath, Amram’s father (Exodus 6:20; compare Exodus 6:16; 6:18; 2:1-10).
