“2 Men. 2 Goals. 1 Mountain.”

Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “‘The Climb’ is a story of two solo rock climbers, Michael Harris (Ned Vaughn) and Derrick Williams (Jason George), who are brought together when they perform a daring rescue. The man they save is the son of retail mogul Mack Leonard (Dabney Coleman) who rewards Michael and Derrick by sponsoring a trip to their dream climb at Mount Chicanagua. The two highly esteemed climbers approach the sport very differently. Michael is a safety-conscious plodder driven by the beauty of creation. His goal is to reach the summit, and take whatever precautions necessary. Derrick is a flamboyant self-promoter bent by anger. He’s a risk taker and will reach his dream at any cost. A clash of pride, styles, and character put both of their lives on the line.”

Positive—I am a HUGE fan of Christian flicks, but I must say that “The Climb” should have been put in secular movie theatres all over the world. Christians and un-Christians alike would have devoured this story, especially men and the athletic at heart. It is a great witnessing tool—explains the love of Christ without being preachy. The acting is realistic, the computer graphics and special effects superb, and yes, there’s a bit of everything, from drama, comedy, romance, and of course, the love of the Lord.

A wonderful film, I have seen it twice and cried both times. I have also giggled through it and stared in awe at the stunt scenes. I highly recommend this film for everyone.

Positive—Good film, with excitement, no profanity, no sex. Fast moving, beautiful scenery. Great message—could be used as intro for further conversation on subject of salvation.

Positive—It is a great movie! I never watched Christian movies before. Why not? I just don’t know, but the movie is very good. …The end was the best part of all, but without the beginning the end was nothing…

Positive—An excellent movie. Very highly recommended. Nothing offensive whatsoever aside from the fact that Derrick’s girlfriend gets pregnant, and it’s assumed that she’s spent the night at his house on several occasions but everything turns out fine. A good chance for parents to talk to kids about staying pure for marriage. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good movie.

Positive—The first time I went to see this movie with my wife and my brother-in-law and his wife. I had to go back again with my high school daughter. This was the best Christian movie I have seen that shared the human struggles that we deal with in this generation. The characters were realistic and the real life happenings were dealt with in a passionate and honest way.

The accountability that is required of us as Christians was explored and truthfully shared in a way that allows non-Christians to see that being a believer still has its own sets of struggles and situations to deal with. I highly recommend this movie.

Positive—Entertainment dollars well spent. I’ll gladly pay the admission price to see it again! If you ever wanted to take a non-christian friend to a movie that can open up dialog to share your faith, this would be that film.

“The Climb” has enough male testosterone action to keep a viewers attention, while still sharing the peace and benefits of a life dedicated to Christ. For you romantic types, this film also reflects the value of healthy relationships and touches on personal integrity, and responsibility. I highly recommend “The Climb.” See it today!

Negative
Negative—Even though the movie teaches good morals, it goes through a bad choice that a certain young lady makes in dating a non-Christian and gets pregnant. A lot of the move is about them kissing and touching. If you’re sensitive to this, as we are, you won’t enjoy the movie.
My Ratings: Moral rating: Very Offensive / Moviemaking quality: 3
