This old English word appears once in the King James Version in Isaiah 3:18 and has a different meaning than courage, in this context. At the time of King James, the word meant beauty, comely, fair or fine.
It is translated as “finery” in other English translations of the Bible, including the New King James Version. The original Hebrew word used in this verse was tiph'arah.
