    He was assumedly given his name (Joses = Joseph) in honor of his father Joseph, husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus (Matthew 13:55; Mark 6:3).

    Jesus had at least 4 brothers and some sisters (Matthew 13:55-56; Mark 6:3). His brothers, in addition to Joses/Joseph, were James, Juda/Judah/Jude/Judas (not Judas Iscariot), and Simon (not Simon Peter.

  2. Joses, the brother of James the Lesser (Mark 15:40, 47)

    Their mother was Mary, the wife of Cleopas.

  3. Joses was the original name of Barnabas (Acts 4:36) who worked with Paul (Saul), and was a cousin of Mark. He is also called Joseph.
