This mountainous country is on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea (almost entirely within modern Croatia). It was part of the Roman province of Illyricum. It still bears its ancient name, today. Paul once preached in that region (Romans 15:19). During his second imprisonment at Rome, Titus left him to visit Dalmatia (2 Tim. 4:10) for some unknown purpose.
