Who are the…
Emim
also known as: Emites, Zamzummim
Meaning: terrors; terrible men
This is a warlike tribe of giants who were defeated by Chedorlaomer and his allies in the plain of Kirjathaim.
In the time of Abraham they occupied the country east of the Jordan River, afterwards the land of the Moabites (Genesis 14:5; Deuteronomy 2:10).
They were, like the Anakim, consider to be among the Rephaim, and were conquered by the Moabites, who gave them the name of Emim (Deuteronomy 2:11), i.e., “terrible men”.
The Emim lived there formerly [Moab], a people as great, numerous, and tall as the Anakim. —Deuteronomy 2:10
The Ammonites called them Zamzummims (Deuteronomy 2:20).
