Hebrew: צְדָד —transliteration: ________ —meaning: side; sloping place
Zedad is an ancient town in the north of the Land of Israel, near Hamath (modern Hama, Syria).
You shall draw a line from Mount Hor to Lebo-hamath [Labweh, Lebanon], and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad; —Numbers 34:8
This shall be the boundary of the land: on the north side, from the Great Sea by the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of Zedad; —Ezekiel 47:15
It has been tentatively identified with the ruins of Sadad, Syria, between Emesa and Baalbec.
