Is there prophetic evidence that the Bible is God’s Word?

It’s about as simple as 1-2-3.

  1. Only a supernatural God would be capable of knowing and revealing the future with 100% accuracy, time after time, in hundreds and hundreds of instances.

  2. That’s exactly what the Bible does. Therefore,

  3. The Bible is God’s Word.

“There are over 2,000 specific prophecies in the Bible which have already been fulfilled. This is particularly astounding when we recall that there are no such prophecies in the ‘scriptures’ of any other religion…

For example, the writings of Buddha are totally lacking in any sort of specific predictive prophecy about the things of the future. In the writings of Confucius, there is absolutely nothing of any predictive prophecies. In the case of the Koran, the scriptures of the Muslims, we find only the prophecy of Mohammed that he would return to Mecca, a ‘self-fulfilling prophecy,’ which he himself, of course, fulfilled.

This is quite different from the prophecy of Christ, who said that he would rise from the dead. And that is just one of several thousands of prophecies that occur in the Scriptures and which are of the most specific, concrete, and definite nature.”

  2. Prophecy - 700 B.C. (approx.)

“But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish; in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them” (Isaiah 9:1-2).

    Fulfillment - 30 A.D.

“Now when He [Jesus Christ] heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee; The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great light, And to those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, Upon them a light dawned. And Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people” (Matthew 4:12, 16, 23).

  3. Prophecy - 515 B.C. (approx.)

“And I said to them, ‘If it is good in your sight, give me my wages; but if not, never mind!’ So they weighed out thirty shekels of silver as my wages. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Throw it to the potter, that magnificent price at which I was valued by them.’ So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the Lord” (Zechariah 11:12-13).

    Fulfillment - 30 A.D.

“‘What are you willing to give me to deliver Him up to you?’ And they weighed out to him [Judas] thirty pieces of silver” (Matthew 27:3, 7).

“Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him [Jesus Christ], saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, And they counseled together and with the money bought the Potter’s Field as a burial place for strangers” (Matthew 26:15).

  4. Prophecy - 1000 B.C. (approx.)

“They divide my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots” (Psalm 22:18).

    Fulfillment - 30 A.D.

  5. Prophecy - 1000 B.C. (approx.)

“The Lord says to my Lord: ‘Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet.’” (Psalm 110:1)

  6. Prophecy - 700 B.C. (approx.)

“Surely our griefs He [Jesus Christ] Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him” (Isaiah 53:4-6).

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel” (Genesis 3:15).

    Fulfillment - 4 B.C. (approx.)

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law” (Galatians 4:4).

“The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8b).
