You probably won’t find a better Christian family film than this one! Shot on location in the Swiss Alps, “Treasures of the Snow” is a dynamic production that shows how harboring an unforgiving spirit only ends up bringing pain to yourself and the ones you love. Granting forgiveness, on the other hand, brings emotional and spiritual healing.

Based on the powerful book by Patricia M. St. John, young Lucien’s careless act of childish teasing turns into tragedy when the boy he is teasing falls over a steep mountain cliff and seriously injures his leg. The tragedy leads to bitterness as Annette, the sister of the child whose leg Lucien has damaged, refuses to accept Lucien’s attempts to win forgiveness. Eventually, Annette’s bitterness drives her to brokenness, and, finally, to a willingness to forgive. Other sub-plots are equally compelling. If at all possible, get your church to have a Sunday evening showing of this one in its 16mm format. Then, buy the video and invite non-Christian neighbors over to see it with you. WARNING! you’ll need a box of tissues handy during this one.
