Hebrew: ῥαββουνί —transliteration: rhabbouni —meaning: a more emphatic form of “rabbi,” meaning high-rabbi
Rabboni occurs only twice in the New Testament (Mark 10:51, King James Version, “Lord,” Revised King James Version, “Rabboni;” John 20:16).
Rabboni is an Aramaic transliterated word, based on the word “rab.”
It was the most honorable and reverent of titles.
