Who is…
Rezon
also known as: Ezron
Meaning: prince
This Syrian is a son of Eliada (Eliadah).
Abandoning the service of Hadadezer, the king of Zobah, when he was defeated by David, he became the “captain over a band” of marauders, and took Damascus.
Rezon became king of Syria, reigning in the 10th century BC (1 Kings 11:23, 24, 25; 2 Sam. 8:3-8).
Rezon abhorred Israel and was an evil ruler.
For centuries after this, the Syrians were the ardent foes of Israel. Rezon “became an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon.”
