Ahohites

Meaning: descendant of Ahoah

The following men were Ahohites, descendants of Ahoah (or Achoach), a Benjamite. Ahoah is a son of Bela and grandson of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:1-4), and his family was renowned for producing elite warriors who served Kings David and Solomon.

1. Dodo

   one of Solomon’s captains (1 Chronicles 27:4)

2. Dodo’s son

   His name is Eleazar, and he was one of David’s 3 mightiest heroes (2 Samuel 23:9; 1 Chronicles 11:12).

3. Zalmon

   one of David’s 30 (2 Samuel 23:28; 1 Chronicles 11:29)
