   This daughter of Ishmael (son of Abraham and Hagar) became the 3rd wife of Esau (Genesis 28:9). So this couple are first cousins. Her father is Esau’s uncle. Ishmael is the son of Abraham and Hagar. Esau is the son of Isaac, son of Abraham and Sarah.

   Mahalath is also called Basemath (aka Bashemath) in Genesis 36:3. She has a brother named Nebaioth.
