dust
DUST USED IN CREATION—Adam was formed from the dust of the Earth by God (Genesis 2:7). God created the animals, prior to Adam—beginning on Day 5, out of atoms (not dust), which He created out of nothing on the first day of Creation when created light, space and the formless Earth (Genesis 1).
DUST PUNISHMENT—Jehovah threatens to bring a rain of “powder and dust” on the land of Israel, as a punishment for forsaking him (Deuteronomy 28:24).

TO CAST DUST ON THE HEAD was a sign of mourning (Joshua 7:6).
TO SIT IN DUST is a sign of extreme affliction (Isaiah 47:1).
TO SHAKE OFF THE DUST FROM ONE’S FEET against another is to renounce all future involvement with him (Matthew 10:14; Acts 13:51).
