Distributor: Dimension Films. Trademark logo.
Dimension Films, a division of The Weinstein Company

Here’s what the distributor says about their film: (from the producer) “Scary Movie 2” casts its satirical eye on such classics as “The Exorcist” and “Poltergeist”, as well as the more recent films “Hannibal”, “What Lies Beneath”, “The House on Haunted Hill”, “Charlie’s Angels” and “Mission Impossible”. The film opens with a spoof of “The Exorcist”, with Father McFelly (James Woods) assigned to purge a head twisting Megan (Natasha Lyonne) of an other worldly poltergeist. Then, picking up where they left off, the Wayans reunite with Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), who is now a college coed. A mad professor (Tim Curry) recruits her and her group of classmates for a weekend getaway under the auspices of a scientific experiment…

Scary Movie 2 was a little less shocking than its predecessor. I actually enjoyed most of it. There were A LOT of things that I felt were horribly explicit, and were definitely not needed. Some scenes were so crude that it made the movie harder to endure. I even turned my head on a couple of occasions. All in all, it WAS hilarious, but contained lots of bad language, crude sexual humor, and tons of “gross out scenes”. There was also an abundance of drug use and it poked fun at disabled people. I will not recommend this movie for these reasons.

I just got finished reading the reviews of Scary Movie 2 and noticed there wasn’t a positive review listed. So, I’ll leave an upbeat one. This movie quoted and played off a wide variety of other films. Having not seen them or not understanding the humor one would not find the movie entertaining. While I didn’t enjoy the entire movie, I found it to be comical. And also, I was curious to see that four out of seven reviews were written by kids who should not even of gone to the movie in the first place because of its “R” rating.

I went to see this movie with some of my newly-met “friends”. From the first scene, to the very last, I found this movie incredibly horrible. I should have walked out, and as soon as I got home, I felt SO ashamed of myself that I was in tears, trying to get the pictures and obscene terms out of my mind… full of sexual innuendos, swearing, slander, and FILTH! And for a Christian, it’ll tear you apart. Hope my experience benefits you!

I am a teenage girl who saw scary movie 2 with a bunch of non-christians. Within the first 5 minutes of that movie I was ready to walk out and would have if I was not in a big group. The movie is extremely offensive to all people of faith-extremely so in the opening scene. The movie goes on to make fun of lesbians and gays when in reality the Lord is crying in Heaven. This movie was truly awful. Me and my non-Chrisitan friends did actually end up walking out during the movie. don’t waste your five dollars on this movie.

I was extremely disgusted. I should have walked out the first 5 minutes. I’m ashamed of myself for staying through the whole thing. Any Christian should stay clear of any movie theater that’s showing this the evilness in it was strong. Satan was laughing at the publicity he got. His presence was strong.

I thought “Scary Movie 2” was a waste of my money. I think the idea of making fun of scary movies is a good one however the movie is so full of trash that it’s not worth seeing. Stay away from this movie!

I found this movie to be very offensive. It not only had inappropriate jokes and jokes making fun of gays it was also crude and not very humorous.

Admittedly, I didn’t go expecting much, considering the original, which I felt at least had some very funny moments, which were lost in a sea of vulgarity. Well, this one had no laughs and buckets of grossness that I found repugnant. Now, I’m a Christian with a sense of humor (I like “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” so that must count for something, hehe), but I left the theatre disgusted and feeling the need for a long, hot shower. The opening “Exorcist” scene was truly vile, and I’m not even Catholic, but I was highly offended. The only reason I went was because I’m a big Tim Curry fan, and thankfully he kept his dignity quite intact compared to the other unfortunate, unwise stars. Parents, please don’t think this is just a fun, harmless spoof that your teens will have fun with—it’s truly nasty and ugly. Now, I think I’ll try to forget I ever saw this monstrosity…
