“Newly rich. Newly single. Forever young.”
Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “After her husband's passing, Eva (Shirley MacLaine), retired history teacher, faces life on her own for the very first time. With a doting daughter Crystal (Demi Moore) reminding her of her age every day, Eva can't help but feel her best days have come and gone.
Everything changes when Eva receives a life insurance check accidentally made out for $5,000,000 instead of the expected $50,000.
At the not-so-gentle urging of Maddie (Jessica Lange), her best friend, Eva deposits the money and takes the chance it offers them to escape from small town life. Their destination is Spain’s Canary Islands, and they have every intention of living it up as an adventure of a lifetime. But their fantasy is short-lived when they awake to discover that they have become media sensations overnight and fugitives from justice, forced to outwit a trio of conmen, led by the Cajun warlord Robichaux, outmaneuver a dogged social security agent Vespucci (Alan Arkin) who has teamed up with Eva’s daughter, Crystal, and outrun the law. What they don’t expect is to be good at it.
But when the insurance company realizes their mistake, will they be able to recover the money before Eva and Maddie spend it all?”
