Meaning: master of the horse; horse ruler
This is a “fellow-soldier” of Paul’s (Philemon 1:2) who lived in the 1st century AD.
Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker, and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house: —Philemon 1:1-2
And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” —Colossians 4:17
Archippus was a member of Philemon’s family, probably his son.
