Do not support this grossly obscene, very perverse, shamefully profane and violent movie that manages to be even more disgusting and worthless than “Sausage Party”

Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “A murder mystery set in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, but puppets are viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show begins to get murdered one by one, a former cop, who has since become a private eye, takes on the case.

This raucous comedy explores a world where puppets and humans live side by side, and the puppet stars of the iconic TV show ‘The Happytime Gang’ are some of the biggest celebrities around. But off camera, the ‘family-friendly’ cast leads the kinds of lives that would make a tabloid writer blush.”

—Brothers and Sisters in Christ… DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE! At once a film both comically deceptive in its advertising while being jaw-droppingly repulsive in its content, “The Happytime Murders” has figuratively murdered many of the things that audiences have found endearing about other puppet-centric films and TV shows.

I won’t go into morbid detail about the completely savage and mindlessly abusive versions of “sexuality” depicted in this film, but will leave everyone who is Christ’s, and I’m not kidding, with the sober warning from Dante before they step foot into the theatre to see this movie: “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”

There is literally no break between scenes where the puppets are performing “sexual” acts (though with no actual skin showing, since they are puppets). After a few minutes my wife and I had to walk out amidst the laughs of other people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Were we seen as prudes by the laughing crowd? Who cares!

I’ve already warned some family members about this movie. And, although they are Christians, have made the casual comment that my wife and I are “so innocent.” I wonder why a Christian would say that to another Christian, when as Christians we are supposed to be “innocent as doves, and shrewd as serpents,” both of which I was being by leaving this movie. I kindly asked them if they would care to explain their comment to me… a request which they declined. I simply replied to my dear brother that being “innocent” is better than feeling “guilty.”
My Ratings: Moral rating: Extremely Offensive / Moviemaking quality: no opinion
