Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “BAD SANTA 2 returns Academy Award-winner BILLY BOB THORNTON to the screen as anti-hero, Willie Soke. Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus (TONY COX), to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Along for the ride is ‘the kid’—chubby and cheery Thurman Merman (BRETT KELLY), a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie’s sliver of humanity.

Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner KATHY BATES, as Willie’s horror story of a mother, Sunny Soke. A super butch super bitch, Sunny raises the bar for the gang’s ambitions, while somehow lowering the standards of criminal behavior. Willie is further burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, played by Emmy Award-nominee CHRISTINA HENDRICKS, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel.”

Negative— First let me say I loved the first “Bad Santa” movie in 2003. it was a superbly done comedy, the late actors John Ritter and Bernie Mac were great. Everyone shined in the first “Bad Santa;” I wanted to like “Bad Santa 2” but it was just lame and corny with over the top disgusting gross vulgar jokes, I’m no Prude, but it was just too much, the plot/storyline of this sequel was boring also, it was money wasted, and this cheapens the greatness of the first Bad Santa film, I’d prefer no more Bad Santa films than another poorly made sequel, I like my sequels done correctly or not done at all!
My Ratings: Moral rating: Offensive / Moviemaking quality: 2½

…raunchy, rude and politically incorrect… with plenty to entertain (and offend) everyone…
Justin Lowe, The Hollywood Reporter
…treats its have-nots like flesh-and-blood humans—which is to say, neither as angels nor demons, as they're often portrayed in holiday films. They sin and are sinned against, driven by a desire to sate their basest urges and gnawed by a sense of duty to their higher instincts. The filmmakers focus on Willie's lust for sex and booze not to create a vicarious thrill for the audience, but to reveal his soul's emptiness and the fear of human connection that drives him toward self-destruction. …

…“Bad Santa 2” is mostly just sad… Trying to recapture that dark magic doesn’t work the second time around. This lazy sequel is a lump of coal in a dirty stocking. …
Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star-Tribune
…sluggish… “Bad Santa 2” is vulgar, nasty and offensive, but it has flawed aspects also. … [2/4]
Kyle Smith, New York Post
…“Santa 2” is bad, and not in a good way… sophomoric, transgressive and unimaginative… dismal sequel…
Walter Addiego, San Francisco Chronicle
…“Bad Santa 2” relies entirely too much on the naughty parts… firehose of vile gutter humor that leaves no one unsullied, and delves into some truly dark places…
Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service
…this unpleasant sequel to 2003’s irreverent comedy should have been called “Worse Santa.”…
